I had a very musical night. So first I go to this quartet concert. My quartet had a masterclass earlier today with one of the violinists- the highlight of which was when he told me I should this group of my notes "sexier"- I think I just played them more awkwardly. Anyways, so the concert featured this electronic instrument that sounds like a spaceship called a theremin, I think you have to see it to understand. I wish I could rock this dude's outfit, not gonna lie. Later, there was a Schubert piece which the program notes informed me reflected his suffering from syphilis. Man, who says classical music is boring?
After that sophisticated cultural experience, Liz and I headed to Lunt basement, which was filled with flannel-wearing Haverhipsters and high schoolers who for some reason think going to Haverford is cool. The first band had a sweet chick bassist, they were Eastern European punk, very dance-y. The second band loved Haverford, so were clearly nerds. The lead singer/keyboardist was wearing a full on suede suit and a glitter bow tie. At first their sound was very 70s wedding band, which turned more jazzy (I love a good j(soft j)azz flute). After Liz and I had sufficiently danced the night away we headed back. I was sweaty, deaf in one ear, and smelled incredibly of cigarette smoke and other Lunt smells, but hey, not a bad Friday night all things considered.

Now, the question is, was the suit Paige Suede or actual suede?
i don't understand that instrument at all. are there strings? or just motion sensors? the video confused me more than your description.
So I was trying to be all cool and tell my mom about the theremin, but apparently she and my brother watched a documentary about it so she already knew more than me. My family is even nerdier than Documentary Wednesday
I joined blog spot because I felt the burning need to comment on this post.
1. Paige suede is better than actual suede ever could be.
2. Nothing is nerdier/awesomer than doc wednesday!
