So I have finished/give up on my thesis and I'm going to turn it in tomorrow, as is. The main issue is that it is too short, but at 25 and a half pages I'm personally satisfied with it so I am going to call it quits.
It's relieving to put it away, return all my library books, clear out my carrell, but the oral defense is still coming up. They claim it can't "hurt your grade" but I am pretty sure that is a lie. I will probably tank it. If they ask any hard questions I'll probably just be like, "actually, you are smarter than me, ya got me."
The end of the year at Bryn Mawr is a little unusual, I think. This week is my last week of classes, with all regular work due Friday. Then on Sunday is the best day of the year, glorious May Day. Following is finals week, which is only one week for seniors. By Saturday I will be done with college work forever. After that we have "Senior Week" which is where they have planned some outings for us, and hopefully my friends and I can create some of our own fun activities. Then comes our three-day graduation extravaganza, and this is when the fam is coming into town. Saturday is Garden Party, where everyone has a spot with a bunch of chairs (choosing the spot is sort of like the running of the bulls) and they give you tea sandwiches and lemonade and you hang with the fam. Then Sunday is the actual graduation, and Monday I finally go home to Arizona. Woo.
It is warm, sunny, and lovely today, and I finally enjoyed the weather a bit and went for a dip in the fountain of the Cloisters (with a bathing suit, we save the skinny dipping for nighttime here).
