So today I was at Borders reading for my Virginia Woolf class, and I overheard this dude having a way intense conversation, which ended with my blog title, see you in court, and a hang up. Man why would you have that sort of conversation in a bookstore? Oh well, I sort of love the invention of cell phones for the reason that people have extremely private, inappropriate conversations in public places which I get to overhear.
After reading The Waves all day, I considered doing a stream of consciousness, Woolf style entry. "The leaves are here. The leaves are everywhere, and I am conscious of their story" said Megan. But as you see, I have not the literary genius to pull that type of thing off.
I've been avoiding any thoughts of my thesis. by the way.
Top Ten Activities to Distract One from Any Thoughts of Thesising:
1) Change the layout of your lame blog. As you can tell, I'm experimenting with a different layout and color scheme. As the stress builds during the rest of the semester, the colors may change more and more frequently.
2) Watch Friday Night Lights on Netflix. My new addiction- the characters are really intriguing, and I like the documentary style. Also I'm in love with the Matt Saracen character, wow. Texas accents.
3) "Catch up" on my TV shows. I pretend this is a productive activity, that I really need to stay up to date on the Thursday night shows that I miss weekly because of orchestra rehearsal.
4) Look at people's Facebook albums that you don't even know. A classic distraction. Especially tempting are anyone's wedding photos (pretty much exclusively people I don't know too well)
5)Buy songs on the ever-addicting iTunes. My favorite study album currently: Gulag Orkestar by Beirut.
6) Look up YouTube videos of fiddlers. Well I often look up classical performances and random people's Beatles' covers. This is my favorite version of Orange Blossom Special.
7) Job searching- more on that later.
8-10) Sleep.
Well, I promise in the next riveting post an explanation of my thesis. I am hoping this will serve as an exercise to articulate my thoughts. It may fail.

So I know it's super-lame to comment on your own blog like a loser. But I must say this title is too appropriate considering that I have been summoned for jury duty in AZ which they will not let me out of even though I live on the other side of the country.
I am such a wit.
I was summoned for Jury Duty once.
also, I too like to look at people's albums on facebook...especially if I don't know them...and especially if it's a wedding album...
see you in december?
look a blog picnique!!! i was summoned for jury duty this month too! OH MY GOSH. what if we are all on a case for tammy. that'd be the hugest conflict of interest. sadly i was already dismissed from my case. it was on voting day. ironically.
also. i love people's awkward very private, public phone calls. recently i heard one like this, "yeah. she was puking everywhere. i know. she just wouldn't stop throwing up. guess it was her first time." this happened in a bank. very appropriate.
also. i watched that orange blossom special clip. i love that song. always amazing.
