The King of Kong

The King of Kong turned out to be a surprisingly intense, emotional documentary- I was quite taken in and nearly cried like a Donkey Kong champion who's world record gets beat. I highly recommend.

BUT the best thing to come of this viewing- Mr. Awesome and more Mr. Awesome.

I really should rename this blog "Megan Avoids Her Thesis." I think Drew has been working harder on it than I, sadly.

If you want to avoid real life, The King of Kong is a good addition, as it was aggressively edited to portray the story it did.

Don't get me wrong, I love the story, but you need to take it with a grain of salt. It's made to look like FAR more of an underdog story than it actually was.

If you enjoyed it though, you should totally check out Chasing Ghosts, which is airing on Showtime this month. I am sure it'll be out on DVD sometime soon. :)

Oh, and TILT: The Battle to Save Pinball. That one's fantastic!
