Well, here I am back home in Arizona. It is getting back to the normal hotness after a very unusual storm that resulted in some cooler weather.
Bryn Mawr graduation is a pretty cool event, I have to say. The first day is convocation, with the speakers, and we had some good ones- Mayor Nutter of Philadelphia was random and funny. We marched in our vintage regalia to a horn ensemble, pretty classy. They set up a tent on Merion Green for all that jazz. Sunday was the actual event, and it wasn't too bad. Considering my class had 332 people and with grad students, we had about 400 some people to graduate, versus the close to 600 at high school graduation. We were led in by a bagpipe band, probably the best part. Processioning into a tent with people snapping photos and cheering with bagpipe music makes you feel pretty important.
I was pretty busy with family and packing all weekend, and sort of happy to get home, especially since graduation day was pretty cold to sit outside for hours. I think it went off pretty well, I got my extended family together.
So now I am home. I have yet to really unpack. Having all of my stuff home, there is nowhere to put it. I suppose I should clean out my room better, but I want to keep all my old books and doll collection and stuff like that so I'm struggling. I have all these personal goals of stuff I want to do over the summer, and also my friends and I have been working on a list of stuff to do, since most of us are relaxing here. We are sort of doing all the Arizona things before everyone leaves. Therefore I should have some stuff to blog about, adventures and such.
I will also be preparing for to move to China for my teaching job in August. The job starts August 22, so I am planning to arrive in Guiyang a week before that, and stop in Hong Kong before to hang out for a while. If anyone is going to be in Hong Kong around that time, let me know!
