I Hear The Bells

Okay, so this is a line from Mike Doughty's catchy song, stuck in my head. But also literally true. See at Bryn Mawr, we have a tradition of ringing the bell in Taylor tower after you have finished all of the work for your college career. So the bell has been ringing at all times of day throughout the week. Today, all senior work is due by 5 pm, so I will go to ring the bell with probably a large group of seniors.

I have posted my fairy tale I wrote for the picture book assignment in Writing for Children on my stories blog, as well as the first chapter of a teen novel that was my final. The story is loosely based on Janes Austen's Persuasion.

It has been a busy week. I played in my final chamber music concert. I went to a picnic at Catherine, our Writing for Children class organizer's, house, which was this gorgeous place in Wayne. We drank wine and ate paella, and Catherine and our other Bryn Mawr alum teacher reminisced about their own Garden Parties.  How classy do I sound right now? Ha, I felt so unclassy. The vegetables were all quality, I couldn't even identify real olives and fresh mozzarella. I also went to my friend George's thesis presentation, which was a composition based on Native American music.  Any piece that involves a GI Joe is bound to be awesome. She used a Navajo code-talker GI Joe's phrases in one of the movements. It was pretty badass.

Anyhow, so I'm tired and I sort of just want to go home. But I guess I should be making the most out of my last college days, or whatever. We have senior week activities coming up until Friday, when all the graduation stuff begins.

Okay Arizona people...we got to plan some fun for my grand return!
